Everyone who left a number or email in your chat.
Your bot answers only from what you add here.
We read the most important pages of your site first: about, services, prices, contact. We read it again every week so your bot stays up to date.
Price lists, menus, FAQs and policies as PDF, Word, text or CSV, up to 10 MB each. Your bot answers from them right away, and they stay when your website refreshes.
Your most asked questions, with your answers. Used right away. An answer with a [bracket] left in it waits until you fill it in.
Everything your bot uses to answer. Remove anything out of date.
What your bot didn't know. Answer once and it knows from then on.
How your chat looks, and the code that adds it to your site.
Paste it just before the closing </body> tag of your site, or send it to your web person.
Or check a page of your website now:
Match your brand so the chat feels like part of your site.
Shown at the top of the chat. Leave empty to show your business name. The chat still tells visitors it's an AI assistant.
PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 300 KB. A square image looks best.
This is how visitors see your chat.
Start the conversation for your visitors. On the pages you choose, a short message pops up above the chat button after a few seconds, like “Need a quote? I can help.” Each visitor sees it once a day.
For pages where you don't want the chat, like a careers or checkout page. End with /* to include every page under it.
Your profile, lead alerts and sign in.
Shown to your team next to the chats you answer.
Your account number at Assistly. Mention it when you write to support so we find your account fast.
Know a business that should have an AI receptionist? Share your personal link. For every business that signs up with it and finishes setup, you get 100 bonus chats this month and next month.
How it works. A business counts once it confirms its email and imports its website. Each business counts once, and your own accounts don't count. Bonus chats raise your monthly chat limit, so they count on plans with a chat limit, like Free and Basic. No cash or payments are involved.
Your plan has no monthly chat limit, so you already have all the chats you need. Your link still records every business you bring in.
Tell your AI how to talk to your visitors. It follows these on every reply. It still only uses facts from your Bot knowledge and never makes up prices.
Add 2 to 4 questions you always want answered before your team follows up. The bot asks them naturally in the chat, one at a time, after it answers the visitor, and skips any they already answered. The answers show in the conversation and in your lead email, next to the Hot, Warm or Cold score.
Visitors see it at the top of your chat, and your bot uses it in its answers.
So the Assistly team can reach you if something needs your attention. Visitors don't see this.
Your account was made before Assistly asked for an email. Add one so we can send you sign in codes on new devices and a link if you ever forget your password. We'll send a 6 digit code to check it's yours.
Get an alert on this phone or computer the moment a visitor leaves their details or asks for a person. Every teammate turns this on for their own devices. Lead emails keep coming too.
New leads are emailed here right away, with a link to the chat.
Every Monday morning (your time zone) after a week with chats, you get the chats, leads, hot leads, visitor ratings, top questions and one tip. A quiet week sends no report; at most once a month you get a short email with ideas instead. It goes to your lead alert email: ….
Optional. When it's on and a visitor wants a visit, quote, call or appointment, the chat shows your open times. They pick one and leave a name plus email or phone, and you get a lead alert with Accept and Suggest another time, plus a calendar file. An accepted time disappears for everyone else.
Off until you switch it on. While it's off, your chat never shows times or a booking form.
Works with booking switched on. Paste your calendar's private iCal (ICS) address and the times you're busy disappear from the times your chat offers. We only read when you're busy. Event names and details are never shown to visitors.
Keep this link private: anyone who has it can see your calendar. We store it encrypted, use it only to read busy times, and you can disconnect any time.
When you're closed, the bot says when you're back and asks for a name, number and what they need. Those leads are marked "After hours". Your hours also set the times visitors can book in the chat.
We email you a code on a new device and every 20th sign in. A passkey or authenticator app adds even more safety.
We'll email a 6 digit code to the new address. Nothing changes until you type it in, and we'll let your old address know.
Changing it signs you out on your other devices.
Signed in as your business.
Every place your assistant works or sends your leads.
Your AI answers the messages customers send to your WhatsApp Business number, with the same knowledge as your website chat. Every WhatsApp chat shows up in your Inbox, where your team can take over and reply. It uses Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API, and replies to customers who message you are free. It only answers private chats, never group chats.
Meta (the company behind WhatsApp) needs a free "app" that lets Assistly answer for your number. You don't write any code.
Using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone with this number? When Meta asks, choose to connect your existing WhatsApp Business app so you can keep using it. More about this
This key (Meta calls it an access token) lets Assistly answer for you. It never expires if you choose Never.
One last code, so Assistly can check every message really comes from Meta.
One step left in Meta: in your app open WhatsApp → Configuration → Webhook → Edit, paste these two, click Verify and save, then Subscribe to messages.
……Waiting for your first WhatsApp message…
Last thing: at the top of your Meta app, switch App mode to Live (some dashboards call it Publish). Until then Meta only delivers messages from test numbers.
Use the step by step setup instead
It only answers private chats, never group chats. Messages in WhatsApp groups are ignored: no reply, no lead, nothing counted.
At developers.facebook.com click Create app, pick the WhatsApp use case and add your business number in WhatsApp → API Setup. No code needed. Step by step guide
In your app open WhatsApp → Configuration → Webhook → Edit, paste both, click Verify and save, then under Webhook fields Subscribe to messages.
……Meta app → WhatsApp → API Setup, under your number. About 15 digits. It is not your phone number.
Same API Setup page, right under the Phone number ID. A different number.
Business settings → Users → System users → Generate new token, expiry Never. Very long, starts with EAA.
Meta app → App settings → Basic → App secret → Show. 32 letters and numbers.
Your token and App secret are stored encrypted and never shown again. Leave them empty to keep the saved ones.
Each line gets a green tick when it works. Then send a WhatsApp message to your business number from another phone: the AI answers in a few seconds and the chat shows in your Inbox. Last, switch your Meta app to Live so real customers get answers.
Send every new lead and new conversation to Zapier, Make or your own system the moment it happens, so it lands in your CRM, a spreadsheet or your team chat. In Zapier pick Webhooks by Zapier → Catch Hook, in Make a Custom webhook, and paste its address here.
Each message carries the header X-Assistly-Signature: t=time,v1=HMAC SHA256 of "time.body" with this key. Zapier and Make don't need it.
Your customers share a personal link to your website and earn the reward you choose.
We couldn't work out an amount from this reward. Set how it is counted:
Assistly Chat keeps count for you: link visits, referred chats, leads, and friends who became customers (an accepted booking, a lead marked Won, or you marking it). The reward owed is worked out from your terms. You pay the rewards yourself and click Mark paid. Nothing is charged or paid out automatically.
The assistant may mention your program when a visitor asks about deals or is happy with the help, never during an urgent problem.
Your marketing plan, ready ads and posts. We write the drafts, you post them.
Real numbers from your own chats. Nothing is estimated.
Similar questions are grouped together.
Add an answer once and the bot uses it next time.
