Getting started in 5 minutes

Assistly puts a friendly AI assistant on your website. It answers visitors from your own business information, day and night, and emails you when someone leaves their phone number or email.

1. Create your free account

1. Go to assistlychat.com and click Get started free.
2. Enter your business name, your work email and a password (at least 8 characters). Pick your type of business if you like: you'll get starter questions to fill in.
3. We email you a 6 digit code. Type it in to confirm your email. No credit card is needed.

2. Teach your bot

Open Bot knowledge and add your website address. We read up to 25 pages of your site on the Free plan (up to 50 on paid plans), most important pages first. You can also upload files (PDF, Word, text or CSV: price lists, service menus) and write your own questions and answers. We read your website again every week so your bot stays up to date. 3. Test your bot

Click Test your bot in your Inbox and ask a question the way a customer would. If an answer is wrong, add the right information under Bot knowledge and ask again. Nothing in a test is saved or sent to anyone.

4. Check where lead alerts go

Open Settings → Lead alert email. It starts as the email you signed up with. Click Send me a test alert to see what an alert looks like.

5. Put the chat on your website

Open Widget, click Copy code and paste the line into your website, just before the closing </body> tag. Step by step guides: Install the chat. Someone else runs your website? Type their email under the code and tap Email the code: we send them the line and the steps.
