Install the chat with Google Tag Manager
General steps for adding your chat code as a Custom HTML tag.
These are general steps. Google Tag Manager changes its screens from time to time, so the names may differ slightly.
- In Assistly, open Widget and click Copy code.
- In Google Tag Manager, open your website's container and click Tags → New.
- Click Tag Configuration and choose Custom HTML.
- Paste your code.
- Click Triggering and choose All Pages.
- Name the tag, like "Assistly chat", and click Save.
- Click Submit, then Publish.
- Open your website and look for the chat bubble.
Tag Manager adds the code after the page loads, so Check my site can't see it. That's normal. Once a page with the chat has been opened, Widget → Is my chat live? shows your website and when the chat was last seen.
