Team alerts in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord

Get a message in your team's channel when a visitor leaves their details, asks for a person, books a time or gives a thumbs down.

Your team sees new leads and visitors who need a person right where they already talk: a Slack channel, a Microsoft Teams channel or a Discord channel. Each alert has an Open in inbox button that opens the chat in your Assistly inbox.

What you can get alerts for

  • New lead: a visitor left their name, phone or email. Shows their contact details, their first question and the AI summary.
  • Needs you: a visitor asked to talk to a person.
  • Booking request: a visitor picked a time in the chat. Shows the time, what it's for and their contact details.
  • Thumbs down: a visitor gave the chat a thumbs down. Shows their last message.

You pick which ones each channel gets. When a booking request also makes a new lead, the channel gets one alert, not two.

Slack

  1. Open api.slack.com/apps in your browser, click Create New App, then From scratch. Name it Assistly and pick your workspace.
  2. In the menu on the left, open Incoming Webhooks and switch it on.
  3. Click Add New Webhook to Workspace, pick the channel for the alerts and click Allow.
  4. Copy the Webhook URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/
  5. In Assistly, open Integrations, paste it in the Slack card, pick your alerts and click Save. Then click Send test.

Microsoft Teams

  1. In Teams, go to the channel for the alerts, open More options (the three dots next to the channel name) and pick Workflows.
  2. Pick Post to a channel when a webhook request is received.
  3. Name it Assistly, check the team and the channel, and click Add workflow.
  4. Copy the address Teams shows you.
  5. In Assistly, open Integrations, paste it in the Microsoft Teams card, pick your alerts and click Save. Then click Send test.
An older Teams "Incoming Webhook" address works too.

Discord

  1. In Discord, open Server Settings, then Integrations, then Webhooks. You need the Manage Webhooks permission.
  2. Click New Webhook, name it Assistly and pick the channel for the alerts.
  3. Click Copy Webhook URL.
  4. In Assistly, open Integrations, paste it in the Discord card, pick your alerts and click Save. Then click Send test.

Good to know

  • Only your account admin can connect a card. The address is kept encrypted, so it isn't shown again after you save it. To change it, paste a new one.
  • Each connected card counts as one integration. If it would be an extra one, you see the price before anything is added.
  • Each card shows its recent alerts and whether they arrived. If an alert doesn't arrive, we try once more 30 seconds later.
  • If Slack, Teams or Discord says the address no longer works, make a new one and paste it again.
  • Alerts never include anything beyond what your inbox already shows, and visitors' words can't ping your whole channel.
